Faculty of Kinesiology

SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

Faculty of Kinesiology of the University of Zagreb is a faculty in which, in addition to educational activities, scientific research activities are carried out in the field of social sciences, field of kinesiology, but also in the field of biomedicine and health. The main goal is to achieve scientific results that are relevant at the international level and quality scientific postgraduate education through doctoral studies. One of the best indicators of scientific activity are primarily the numerous papers published by Faculty teachers and associates as part of internationally acknowledged publications.

Scientific activity of Faculty members is demonstrated by observing data on the participation of researchers and scientists from the Faculty of Kinesiology in international scientific conferences, as well as by examining their involvement and activity in various scientific and professional associations and organizations. Furthermore, scientific activity is visible in the publication of the scientific journal Kinesiology in the field of general and applied kinesiology.

The basic organizational units that enable the implementation of scientific research work operate within the INSTITUTE OF KINESIOLOGY. Basic function of the Institute of Kinesiology (hereinafter: the Institute) is scientific research and knowledge transfer in order to improve the overall scientific, teaching and professional work in the scientific field of kinesiology and related scientific branches and disciplines. Members of the Institute are all scientists; teachers, associates and research novices as well as external associates of the Faculty.

Within the Institute, there are several organizational units:

I Center for scientific research within which fundamental, applied and developmental researches are conducted, and within which special research laboratories are established and operate:

 

 II Center for transfer of knowledge in kinesiology within which knowledge is collected (scientific and professional resources) and it is transferred through teaching, lifelong education and training, conferences, publishing, studies, expertise, counseling, media and other forms of activity to users in all areas of applied kinesiology.

III Diagnostic center in which diagnostic procedures are performed in all areas of applied kinesiology using research laboratory equipment and special diagnostic equipment for now primarily intended to determine the level of training in top athletes with the aim of developing diagnostics for the recreational population.
