Biography

Sanela Škorić was born on August 11th 1979 in Zagreb. She graduated and was awarded Master of Science and PhD title at the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Zagreb. She attended masters’ program entitled “International Tourism in National Economy” and defended her masters’ thesis The development of sports tourism in Istria on April 12th 2006. On May 18th 2010 she successfully defended her doctoral thesis Sustainable development criteria as a part of winter sports tourism development.

In June 1st 2004 she started working at the Faculty of Kinesiology as a research assistant and is involved in subjects Economics and Management of Sport and Tourism and Sports, and is now Assistant Professor. She was a part of several scientific projects listed previously, and attended various scientific (and expert) international and domestic conferences. Additionally, during her work she attended seminars and workshops such as Writing Effectively about your Research (2010), Financial Aspects of RTD Contracts (2006),  Economics and management of sport (2005). 

She actively speaks and writes English, and passively Italian and German.

Since June 2015 till May 2018 team member of the project supported by Croatian Science Foundation "Management of sports experiences in the function of designing effective business models in less developed tourist destinations (code: UIP-2014-09-1214), main researcher Marko Perić, Phd, Assistant Professor (Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management).

From 2007 till 2013 team member at the scientific projects supported my the Ministry of education, science and sport (code: 034-0672288-2606) entitled "The conception of development of sports and nautical tourism in Croatia", main researcher Mato Bartoluci, PhD, Full Professor.

During 2008/2009 participated in the study "Sports and recreational activities along the Green path – Croatian ecological road”, conducted by IRES – Institute for the research and development of sustainable eco systems and Faculty of Kinesiology University of Zagreb.
