From the very beginning the Faculty has accepted, encouraged and advocated for the orientation that the mission of the higher education institutions is manifested in the symbiosis of educational (professional training) and elite research work.  Graduated kinesiologists, with the professional title of teachers of PE (according to the old, four-year-long university study), and future masters of kinesiology, with the professional title of Master of Kinesiology in Education and with the additional competency and title of Master in Applicative Kinesiology, that is specialization in one of the chosen branches of applicative kinesiology (sport, sports recreation, kinesitherapy, sports management; according to the new five-year-long integrated university study of kinesiology), actualize their knowledge and skills by performing all forms of teaching physical education classes in the educational system of the Republic of Croatia, from the preschool level to the postsecondary education level. They are also qualified to organize and conduct all forms of extracurricular intramural activities, as well as for a variety sporting and sports recreational programmes for their pupils and students in educational institutions, in their city, municipality, county and at the state level. Within the area of competitive sports they manage sports activities for selected groups of children, teenagers and adult athletes focused on sports achievements and high performance. They also organize physical recreation for youngsters and adults and implement kinesitherapeutic procedures as well as sports programmes for the persons with disabilities. They are qualified to establish scientifically the process of exercising and to assess the expected kinesiological effects produced in physical education teaching, as well as the training effects reflected in improvements of sport performance and achievements. They are also qualified to discuss the health-related issues with regard to the underpinning well-being benefits in the participants of kinesiological (sporting) activities.

 

 

During their study students are intrudeced to the methodology of research and rationale and techniques of scientific work in a way that they are included in scientific project work, encoureged to write their professional and research papers. They are trained in precise measurement techniques performance and data analyses, as well in how to utilize modern information resources and computer technology in exercise and training programming and control. At the end of their study they are fully qualified to scientifically found the  rogrammed processes of exercise and training in all branches of applied kinesiology, as well as for objective and scientifically founded evaluation of effects of these kinesiological activities in hooling, sport, sports recreation and kinesitherapy with the ultimate goals to underpin anthropological growth and development, optimal health status and its longvity sustainability, and performance, sports achievement and defensive capacity enhancement. Wellbeing of participants in kinesiological activities, however, is always in the focus of their attention. Modern research methodology and sophisticated technology, utilized in the analyses, design and evaluation of the exercise processes, are the foundations of research and scientific work, which makes the Faculty the central and leading Croatian institution in the domain of kinesiology. Research interests are focused on the enrichment of the kinesiological body of knowledge and insights into the numerous factors influencing the management of the exercise programmes in schools, sport, recreation and rehabilitation. Identification, assessment and evaluation of changes in the space of human characteristics, abilities and motor knowledge and skills, induced by the managed, goal-oriented processes of exercising, are executed from the versatile biological, psychological, social, educational, philosophic, ethical, economical, and cultural aspects. These changes are induced, observed and analysed from the cellular level to the widest socio - cultural levels.
